Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings are coming back to London for a spot at the Roundhouse, Camden. If for some reason you have not witnessed Sharon’s powerhouse vocals front the tight unit that is the Dap-Kings, then I guess you ain’t seen nothing yet. At the top of the international funk & soul scene, the Brooklyn based band will be performing tracks from their growing catalogue of soul classics, including new material from their album, “I Learned The Hard Way”, already a bonafide soul classic sitting proudly in the collections of music lovers worldwide. Recorded at Daptone’s House Of Soul, it is an album of love-laboured warmth and authenticity that could just as easily been recorded at Stax in the late 60′s. On-stage the Dap-Kings put on a dynamic show of tight rhythm and impressive showmanship. Yes its on a Wednesday but trust me, there will be no nodding off in the Roundhouse on this night.
